Yemayá Orisha dance workshop - Part 2 All levels
Back by popular demand!
SATURDAY 30 MAY 4-6 PM
A tribute to YEMAYA 💦🌊🌊 — with live music 🎶🌊🌊💦 Mother of all Orishas, Queen of the sea and goddess of intelligence. Oshún's sister and Changó's mother and when she punishes she is inflexible!
SATURDAY 28 MARCH 3-5 PM
ALL LEVELS WELCOME
In this workshop we will work on Yemayá sequences that are connected to the following rhythms or toques:
Omolodde - Ñongo & Chachaolókafun
We will focus both on technique and musicality.
Beginners / Improvers
You will continue learning the basic steps & moves corresponding to Yemayá as well as how to identify the specific (Yemayá) rhythmic patterns when listening to Batá music.
We will start with the song omolode omo ti ti yo , ele yó l'adé’ and build up the sequence until reaching the Chachalokafún.
The idea is that in each workshop, you develop good (or better) coordination, a greater (or even greater) sense of musicality and that you all feel more confident to join in in any Afro-Cuban social context! 😉
Please bring a wide skirt if you have one.
If not, our 'Luanda Pau' skirts will be on sale at the workshop! 😊💃🏽
